Although the daytime heat still lingers, the evenings are beginning to hint at the arrival of autumn. Evermore London has released new incense, perfect for the coming season. Since last year, we have proudly been the stockist of the British fragrance brand Evermore London here in Tokyo, Japan. Their candles, with a scent that is not overpowering but rather pleasantly soothing, are popular among our customers, especially as gifts due to their elegant packaging. Now, Evermore London has introduced new incense. We had the opportunity to speak with brand owner Sarah Bell about her passion for fragrances, and we’d like to share it with you.
About Evermore London
Evermore London is a British candle brand established in 2014 by Sarah Bell. While making candles as a hobby, she realized that the materials in commercially available candle kits were of poor quality, which inspired her to begin researching better materials. Driven by a desire to create candles with clean fragrances and processes, Evermore uses recycled glass and FSC-certified packaging, valuing sustainability and the beauty of nature. Evermore's fragrances provide a warm glow and soothing scent, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
Q. Is there anything in particular you focus on when creating fragrances?
When developing each scent, we focus on weaving unique stories that resonate with our customers. Inspired by nature, constellations, and the changing seasons, our fragrances are carefully crafted to evoke a sense of place, memory, or mood. We also prioritize using high-quality, sustainably sourced ingredients to create luxurious scents that not only last but are also safe and clean to burn. Special attention is given to how different notes combine and unfold over time, ensuring a rich, layered fragrance experience that enhances and envelops the space.
Q. Do you have a personal favorite fragrance or a seasonal recommendation?
It’s hard to pick a favorite, as each scent has its own special story and is unique. However, if I had to choose, I would say I love the calming blend of rose petals, violet leaf, and patchouli in "Moon." This fragrance creates a serene and peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for evening relaxation.
Q. Do you have a message for your Japanese customers?
We are incredibly honored that our fragrances can be enjoyed by customers in Japan. Japan has a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, nature, and inner richness, which resonates strongly with the values of our brand. We hope our fragrances bring tranquility, warmth, and peace to your lives.
The newly introduced incense is made with the same attention to materials as the candles, using charcoal instead of wood to reduce smoke and high-quality herbs. Each stick burns for approximately 45 minutes, making it perfect for a peaceful morning before heading out or a relaxing evening. Alternatively, you can break the stick in half and use it for a quick refresh during those fleeting moments.
