"Bringing out the natural character of leather while creating pieces that fit seamlessly into daily life."
Living in a small village in Hiroshima Prefecture, Kazunaga crafts leather accessories. His fascination with leather began in high school when he started making bags by trial and error. He later honed his skills in workshops in Kobe and Italy, as well as at a manufacturer in Osaka. The leather he uses comes from deer and boars that are culled due to wildlife damage. The seasonal plants used to create patterns can only be harvested during limited periods of the year. Despite these constraints, he values a slow and steady approach to craftsmanship, respecting the natural rhythm of time. Collecting plant seeds and replanting them for the next year, his work is deeply intertwined with life in the mountains.
