Stoneware mug by Lisa Rizell, a ceramic artist based in Malmö, Sweden. It is made using an inlay technique, in which patterns are carved into the surface and filled with clay of a different color. Rather than relying only on glaze to create its expression, each pattern is carefully formed through this time-consuming process, giving the piece a truly special character.
