This collection by Chinese artist Liu Xiaodong was created during the 2020 pandemic and featured in an online exhibition by the Lisson Gallery. The project captures the changing landscape of New York through watercolor paintings, set against the backdrop of the first wave of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement. The book includes illustrations, photographs, and drawings, as well as essays by a curator from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Liu’s own diary entries, providing a deep record of this historic moment.
