2G No.78 - Junya Ishigami

¥8,580

Issue 78 of 2G Magazine, the architecture magazine based in Spain, is dedicated to Japanese architect Junya Ishigami. After working at Kazuyo Sejima’s office, Ishigami established his own firm, "Junya.Ishigami+Associates", in 2004. He gained international attention following his presentation for the Japan Pavilion at the 2008 Venice Architecture Biennale, where he created an imaginative space featuring delicate garden drawings across an entire wall and a real garden set within a greenhouse outside the pavilion. In recent years, he has continued to explore the relationship between nature and architecture in projects such as *Water Garden* (Tochigi, Japan), *Chapel of Valley* (China), and *House & Restaurant* (Yamaguchi, Japan). His practice is defined by a deep reading of geological and environmental contexts, and a pursuit of harmony between the built and natural worlds.
