NEW CANVAS by Daniel Gordon

¥12,100

A comprehensive monograph by American artist Daniel Gordon. Known for his process-driven practice of cutting, assembling, and experimenting, Gordon blurs the lines between photography, collage, and sculpture to create a distinctive visual world. His relationship with photography is central to his work—each image is imagined and constructed from scratch in the studio, much like a painter or sculptor at work. This book not only showcases his finished photographic works but also highlights the layered creative processes behind them. It offers the most in-depth look to date at Gordon’s practice, inviting readers to trace the origins of his images and immerse themselves in his exploration of visual art.

Born in Boston, Daniel Gordon is an American contemporary artist based in Brooklyn. He earned his BA from Bard College in 2003 and his MFA from the Yale School of Art in 2006. His work is known for its hybrid approach, combining photography, collage, and sculpture. Using images sourced from the internet, he builds three-dimensional objects which he then photographs—creating works that are both tactile and illusionistic.
