MAIL by Mungo Thomson

¥7,700

A conceptual work by California-born, Los Angeles–based artist Mungo Thomson, this book is composed entirely of an accumulation of mail. During his participation in the 2018 exhibition *Stories of Almost Everyone* at the Hammer Museum, Thomson arranged for all mail addressed to the museum to be redirected to the gallery space—where it was continuously stacked, unopened, throughout the duration of the show. Encompassing letters, flyers, magazines, menus, and junk mail, the resulting pile was photographed after the exhibition ended and compiled into this publication, structured like a product catalog. The book serves as a visual archive that captures the materiality and systems of institutional communication and information flow.
