HURVIN ANDERSON by Hurvin Anderson

¥17,380

The first comprehensive monograph on Jamaican-British artist Hurvin Anderson, this book brings together his work to date in a richly detailed collection. Known for his intricate, vivid depictions of landscapes and interiors imbued with personal memory and layered histories, Anderson is a celebrated painter and former Turner Prize nominee. Drawing inspiration from his childhood in the English Midlands and the landscapes of the Caribbean, his work explores the tension between abstraction and figuration, nature and the manmade, beauty and danger—reflecting his dual heritage of Britain and Jamaica. Poetic and political, this book captures the compelling interplay of migration, memory, and identity that defines Anderson’s visual world.
