Monograph by American stage director and visual artist Robert Wilson, published in conjunction with his 2025 exhibition at the New York gallery Raisonné. Known for approaching theater as a total art form—combining visual, linguistic, and bodily expression—Wilson has featured the chair as a distinct presence on stage since the 1960s. This book presents furniture used in productions staged between 1969 and 2011. Made from wood, metal, neon, and other materials, these chairs possess a striking presence, performing on stage with the weight and intensity of actors.
