Created in conjunction with the exhibition held in 2012 at Denmark’s Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, often described as one of the most beautiful museums in the world, this poster features Sunflower (1957) by Ellsworth Kelly, a leading figure in American abstract art. The exhibition presented approximately forty drawings focused on plants and flowers. During Kelly’s stay in France from 1948 to 1954, encounters with the work of Claude Monet and Jean Arp helped shape his keen observational eye and sensitivity to nature, forming the foundation of his abstract language. In Sunflower, the contours of the plant are reduced to their simplest lines, yet the sense of vitality remains intact. Each line carries a quiet strength, conveying Kelly’s deep respect and affection for form itself.
