The year 2024 is quickly coming to a close.
Our final introduction for the year is the stunning pottery from 'asamono,' which has arrived from the United States. Every time we open the box, we’re filled with excitement to see what unique pieces have arrived. We hope you can take your time admiring them in person at our store, but for those further away, please enjoy shopping through our online store.
About asamono
Asami Hatanaka, based in Los Angeles, started her ceramic brand 'asamono' after teaching ceramic classes and workshops for around four years at a community studio in the historic West Adams neighborhood in South Los Angeles. Inspired by traditional Asian techniques and Japanese aesthetics, she creates simple, rustic pieces that fit modern homes. Through her shapes and glazes, her pottery evokes a sense of Japanese culture and its background, blending foreign influences with a subtle touch of Japanese pottery traditions.
Mug
Our mug collection is extremely popular. While mugs from abroad tend to be quite large, asamono's mugs are the perfect size for us. Each one is unique, giving it a special one-of-a-kind feel. Find the perfect mug that resonates with you for your favorite cup of tea or coffee.
Pillow
The charming 'Pillow' pieces are perfectly described as plump and soft. We often get asked, “What is this used for?” The beauty of this piece is that there’s no fixed purpose – enjoy it however you like! Display it on a shelf, use it to hold rings, or place incense on it. Let your imagination run wild and enjoy your own unique Pillow.
Oval Plate
The oval plate, which we’re introducing for the first time, features a distinctive design on the rim that leaves a lasting impression. Whether you want to serve pasta, salad, or fish dishes, this piece will make the experience of plating food even more enjoyable.
