Pottery pieces from the ceramic art duo 'Scarlet Pottery,' formed by Hiroki Kanazawa and Yuko Shige, have arrived from Amakusa, Kumamoto. Amakusa porcelain stone, mined along the beautiful western coast of Amakusa, is pure white, fine-textured, and fired at high temperatures, which increases its hardness, resulting in durable, stunning pieces. The enchanting designs painted on these beautiful canvases are all hand-painted by Yuko, with each piece uniquely crafted.

About Scarlet Pottery
Scarlet Pottery is a ceramic unit created by ceramic artists Yuko Shige and Hiroki Kanazawa, who live in surrounded by the rich nature of Amakusa, Kumamoto. The duo uses locally sourced Amakusa porcelain stone, which is shaped on a wheel by Hiroki and painted by Yuko. Under their skilled hands, the finely crafted and somewhat warm pottery pieces are transformed by Yuko's pop, free-spirited, and expressive artwork. The collaboration of Hiroki's unique, rebellious, punk-like spirit and Yuko's gentle, warm-hearted atmosphere creates the distinctive essence of Scarlet Pottery. The genuine, carefree smiles of the pair reflect the joy and happiness that seem to be captured in every piece of pottery.
