When I first saw his work,
I suddenly remembered a box that used to be placed on the bookshelf at my grandmother's house.
It felt nostalgic and warm.
As I explored the reason for this, I learned that his craftsmanship is not just about creating things, but is deeply connected to nature.
Using the leather of deer and wild boars that were culled as part of animal damage control, he dyes them with walnut, indigo, and seasonal flowers. The marks left by shotgun pellets during the capture and the scratches made when the animals ran through bushes are also proof of the life these animals lived. Even parts that would normally be discarded are carefully crafted with gratitude for life, utilizing their characteristics without waste.
By using plants that can only be harvested in certain seasons, the patterns that emerge reflect the expression of each piece of leather. In these works, we see his attitude of accepting the flow of nature and carefully finishing each piece with his hands.
