THE POSTER CLUB - Atelier Visit -
We have just received new posters from THE POSTER CLUB, which are very popular at our store. During the 3daysofdesign event held in Copenhagen this June, we visited their atelier and experienced the latest art pieces firsthand.
In the old town of Copenhagen, Denmark, a corner lined with historic buildings radiates a sense of history. Climbing the slightly dark stairs, we arrived at the studio of THE POSTER CLUB. The room was illuminated by light streaming through the windows, and the posters adorning the white walls beautifully brightened the space.
The event "The Color Play Collection" was being held when we visited. It was an exhibition of artwork by Teklan, who is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and identifies as a colorist.
The playful arrangement of geometric shapes, the meticulously calculated color contrasts, and the balance of light and shadow harmonize opposing elements such as flat and three-dimensional, abstract and figurative. Teklan's background in studying architecture and her career in architectural photography are reflected in the beautiful structural expressions of her works.
The works were displayed on colorful walls in the studio, but they also looked stunning against white walls, brightening the atmosphere of any room. At first glance, the colors may appear vibrant, but the expression techniques, which evoke a three-dimensional texture similar to textiles, create a soft yet sophisticated ambiance.
The studio was impressive beyond the event space as well. The posters hanging on the walls, those casually arranged on tables, the lighting, and the beautifully arranged flowers all captivated us, showcasing a different kind of hospitality compared to Japan.
Surrounded by a beautifully decorated space, high ceilings, and large windows in a historic building, this studio filled with stunning art felt like a dreamlike setting straight out of a movie or drama.
